The Agents Brings Award-Winning Fringe Theatre Magic to Durban on 7-8 February
Durban theatre lovers, this one’s for you — and for anyone visiting the city who wants to experience its creative heartbeat. The Agents, the Jo’burg fringe theatre gem directed by Toni Morkel, is heading to Seabrooke’s Theatre at Durban High School for a short, sparkling run 7 and 8 February 2026. With its sharp wit, fearless performances and unmistakable South African humour, The Agents is a reminder of why live theatre still thrills in ways nothing else can.
Why The Agents Is a Favourite
Fresh from acclaim on the Johannesburg fringe circuit, The Agents has earned its reputation as a clever, high-energy ensemble piece. Nominated for a Fleur du Cap Theatre Award, the production thrives on precision comedy, fast pacing and deliciously exaggerated characters that feel uncomfortably familiar — in the best way.
A Trio That Steals the Show
Roberto Pombo, Lisa Derryn Overy and Kyla Davis, pictured, shine as three gloriously over-the-top estate agents who will say — and do — absolutely anything to close their next deal. Their chemistry crackles, their timing is razor-sharp, and the satire lands with both humour and bite. The Agents skewers ambition, image and desperation with flair, making audiences laugh while recognising the world it mirrors.

Supporting Theatre While Visiting Durban
One of the joys of The Agents coming to Durban is the chance for out-of-town visitors to experience the city’s theatre-going culture. Bookings are moving, but the shows are not yet full — which means this is the perfect moment to rally theatre-loving friends, support independent performers, and put real value into the Pay What You Can box. Standard tickets sell for R150, and every contribution helps keep bold South African theatre alive.
Public bookings are available via Quicket — and if you happen to know any estate agents, encourage them to come along. The Agents might just be the most entertaining reflection they’ve seen on stage.
